Bullying in schools continues to be an area of considerable community concern, as it impacts on students' physical and psychological health, educational attainment and social development. Bullying behaviour can also indicate subsequent anti-social and criminal behaviour. The National Crime Prevention Branch is funding research and development into the most effective ways to prevent and stop bullying in pre-school and in the early primary years. Once the most effective anti-bullying strategies are identified, the project will develop information resources to help teachers, parents and carers prevent and address bullying in schools
